I read that thinking "wow they already made another game in that series?" but then I looked it up... lol.

I BEAT SIN & PUNISHMENT STAR SUCCESSOR! That is probably one of the hardest games I've ever beaten. Problem is, it plays like an arcade game, so your score is reset to zero when you die in a level, so my scores are garbage.

I am now playing Rise of the Tomb Raider (almost beaten it), which has been pretty good. I hate the gun combat though.

I played and beat Axiom Verge, Gurumin: A Monstrous Adventure, Ys Origin, Green Day Rock Band.
Now I'm playing a free JRPG called Eternal Senia. It's not bad. Get it. It's free. Just sayin'

I beat Ori also. I had some problems with occasional controller lag, but otherwise it was a pretty good game.

Also beat FFXV. Very good game, and I highly recommend it.

I beat Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth2, which was about as good as the first game, but I accidentally triggered the DLC that makes gaining EXP way too fast, so it became too easy. I'm playing the third game now.

I also got a lot of stuff recently, some from the Steam summer sale, and some from a retro game store.
Steam: Cloudbuilt, Aquaria, Bastion, Dust: An Elysian Tail, Gurumin: A Monstrous Adventure, Recettear, Transistor, Ys Origin and I also found a free RPG Maker game called Eternal Senia.
Retro: Otogi (Xbox), Lost Kingdoms II (Gamecube), Shining Tears (PS2), Rise of the Tomb Raider (PS4) and a new copy of the Tales of Xillia 2 collector's edition.
I also have two more special editions pre-ordered: Ys 8: Lacrimosa of Dana and Nights of Azure 2: Bride of the New Moon.

Basically, I spent way too much money lately (over $500...)

Finished Ori, got pretty much every achievement except for the hardcore ones (yeah ok I'm gonna beat the game in 3 hours with no deaths). The game has become one of my all-time favorites. Every powerup makes the game feel better and more fun. Bash is fun as hell to use.

Played some more Yakuza 0, spent 5 hours not going to the next story section and instead expanding my cabaret club with waifu voice actors.

I beat Dragon Quest Heroes. It wasn't very hard, but if you like Dragon Quest, you'll love it. I don't really like Dragon Quest, but I still liked it.

I started FFXV, and I'm doing the opposite of what you said: holding down the dodge button and attacking every once in a while. So far, I like it.

I also started Ori and the Blind Forest. It's a lot more frustrating than I thought it would be.

And since they added Pull Me Under by Dream Theater (one of my favorite songs of all time) to Rock Band 4, and I can actually play the friggen game without any problems now, I've been playing it more recently.

That reminds me that I never picked up Kingsglaive yet, but I have beaten FFXV (or the story at least, haven't done all the side quest (the last catching frogs quest is too cancerous to attempt))

The gameplay is quite fun even though you basically only hold the attack button and dodge every once in a while. The story starts off pretty good but get super convoluted and messy. But it was an overall good experience I suppose. 7/10

I like convoluted and messy.

Learned this thing maybe just a month ago, crazy how things pop up more once you learn about it. Forgot the point tho, something about two types of psychology or somethin

I would play Echoes, but I never even finished Birthright yet (I preordered the special edition so I already had all 3 routes).

Currently, playing Shadow of Mordor, Ori, and Tekken 7 all on PC

P.S.
Looking into the Dark Souls games. Look fun, but Bloodborne is the cheapest,  and idk how much lore will make sense if I don't start with 1.
Bloodborne is a seperate universe from Dark Souls with it's own lore, afaik. Think of it as a spin-off. Pretty sure every game is it's own self-contained story anyway.

P.P.S.
Also had preordered Persona 5 (hype) as soon as the Valentine's day release date was announced, and now there's 7 days left till the actual release (hype again)
Finished this since the last time I posted, this game is pretty damn great. I feel like a certain party member came way too late to make a good impact, plus they're not very good gameplay-wise, but it's a cost to pay to have such a long-ass game (took 110 hours to beat, last 10 hours were grinding yen for a bit more completion on my compendium)
