Welcome to the Netherworld, dood!

I've spammed my obsession and adoration of this game series all over the place because I'm a fangirl so I decided to make a thread about it to contain it all and spare y'all my ravings in other places.

For those who haven't played it before: stop reading and buy it now, dood. Disgaea is a strategy RPG in the same vein as Fire Emblem, Advance Wars, Shining Force, Final Fantasy Tactics, etc. where you move your characters around on a grid-based map. There is a main story in each game, but it only accounts for 25% of the entire game's content (maybe even only 10% in the later games). There are randomly generated dungeons inside of every single item you find, and completing dungeons makes those items stronger. On top of that, once you beat each game, or get to a certain level before then, you can unlock many bonus missions and extra maps, more items and a few uber-bosses. You can play these games for hundreds of hours and still have plenty to do.
Each game is set in a Netherworld, so most of the characters you play with are demons, and this concept is used for most of the game's humor. The first Disgaea stars the overlord's son Laharl who fights to regain the throne after his father dies (from choking on a pretzel?) while dealing with his michievous new vassal Etna and the annoying "love freak" angel Flonne. These three characters are the most dysfunctional trio in the series, making them very funny to tag along with
The other games are similar, and also very funny. Disgaea 4 is easily the most serious out of all of the games though, but it is still hilarious.

Oh, and Prinnies are awesome, dood!

Don't pass it up when you get the chance. The DS (and PSP) version has more added content than the original PS2 version. On a handheld, it can be treated kinda like a Pokemon game- turn it on when you're bored to raise your levels and try to perfect your team.

The first Disgaea is in the DS and PSP. Disgaea 2 is on the PSP and Disgaea 3 is on the Vita. I haven't seen any for the 3DS, but they should make one...

At least you're actually gonna get it right? Better than getting nothing at all with no refund.

Yep. I'm still super excited for it. It's supposed to be harder than the previous games too, which is good. Disgaea 3 was a little too easy, and 4 was only a little harder.

But I want my Prinny t-shirt NOW >:l

I wonder if they'll do that. It's going to be more than 3 weeks late, so yeah, they really should. Send me that Prinny hat or somethin' :P

Well, since you're posting on this thread, a Disgaea game? :P

Disgaea DS for $12. I'll tell you my opinions once I get to play it, but I've read a lot about it, and it looks like fun. I can't wait, but I hope Star gets her game first.

I actually got an e-mail saying that it has been shipped and will most likely arrive on the 24th.
And it was sent 12 minutes before I checked lol.
And like Aether mentioned they are sending me a little extra gift called the Flonne Squad Stickers. We'll see what that really is when it comes because I couldn't find it on Google image search.
There is a problem though... I won't be able to play it much until after the 30th or so because I will be at my aunt's house. I guess I could bring my PS3 with me but meh...
