I finally got my computer and scanner set up! Yey.
I don't want to keep flooding the other topics because I've started drawing more frequently, so I created a topic for mine too. Hope y'all don't mind. I may still stick something in the Constructive Criticism page if I feel the need to though.
I also plan on rounding up all the other drawings I've posted on TLW so they're all in one place.
When I draw, I don't like to recreate images. I love trying to make my own using my imagination, or if it's a fan picture, I'll draw it in a way I haven't seen before. Obviously, there are exceptions.
Anyway, here are my newest creations!
1. This concept (very cliché, I know) was for the one and only plot-device weapon in my story. That's about all I can say about that for now. If you look closely, you can see that another picture from my sketchbook tried to sneak into the picture :P
2. This bug was inspired by one I saw in a dream. It can use its jointed proboscis to lift pretty heavy things onto its back. The cage-like appendages on its back can open or close like the maw of a Venus fly-trap to hold things in place, be it soil, rocks, food for its colony or prey.
3. My picture of Floette in a pose I made up. I have to do my own poses, or else I get bored just drawing based off an image. >.>
4. A fairy character from my story that I'm still debating on whether or not to use. I had a difficult time getting the right wing to look right (and it still doesn't look right) because I have poor depth perception. -.- I also did not want to design the wings' pattern until I have colors.
She's supposed to be a smart-ass, teasing the main character at every chance she gets, while still playing the role of a guide/guardian.
5. A character from my story. Again, my terrible depth perception made it hard to make this the way I wanted it. I wanted his right side to be closer and for it to look like he's looking down at the viewer. It kind of does, but not to the extent I wanted. His physical design is also not final, which is why it looks very plain.
This guy has a dark personality due to his childhood, or lack thereof, having to fend for himself most of his life. He makes a living escorting people to a certain place, where he takes their belongings because they die, but never by his hand. You can use your imagination here ;)
6. This bird-like creature I made up randomly one day. It's light enough to stay afloat without flapping its nearly invisible wings, angling itself in a way that the wind carries it wherever it needs to go. Without wind, it uses a "gill" near its wing joint to absorb certain gases that keep it lighter than air. Its tail is only used when it needs to land, or for self-defense.
