Title: Ideal Party
Post by: Dogma on December 09, 2010, 05:25:17 PM
Who's your front 4 members (and backup if you want), what are their classes, typical weapons, most common summons, strategies, etc...?

Primary Party:

Matthew
Class Series: Ninja
Weapon of Choice:  Great Swords
Signature Move(s):  Annihilation
Physical Attacks:  ★★★★☆
Psynergy Attacks:  ★★★★☆
Summons:  ★★★★★

Eoleo
Class Series: Samurai
Weapon of Choice:  Katanas
Signature Move(s):  Protection/Magic Shell
Physical Attacks:  ★★★☆☆
Psynergy Attacks:  ★★★☆☆
Psynergy Buffs:  ★★★★★
Djinn Attacks:  ★★☆☆☆
Djinn Buffs:  ★★★★☆
Item Heals:  ★★★★☆

Sveta
Class Series:  Bruiser
Weapon of Choice:  Knuckles
Signature Move(s):  Psynergy Surge
Physical Attacks:  ★★★★☆
Psynergy Attacks:  ★★☆☆☆
Psynergy Heals:  ★★★☆☆
Djinn Attacks:  ★★★☆☆
Djinn Buffs:  ★★★☆☆
Djinn Debuffs:  ★★★☆☆

Amiti
Class Series:  Aqua Lord
Weapon of Choice:  Bows
Signature Move(s):  Wish Well
Physical Attacks:  ★★☆☆☆
Psynergy Attacks:  ★★☆☆☆
Psynergy Heals:  ★★★☆☆
Djinn Heals:  ★★★★★
Djinn Debuffs:  ★★★★☆
Item Heals:  ★★★★☆
Summons:  ★★★☆☆

My backup party's only solid characters are:

Himi
Class Series:  Curse Master
Weapon of Choice:  Staves
Signature Move(s):  ---
Psynergy Attacks:  ★★★☆☆
Psynergy Debuffs:  ★★★★☆
Djinn Debuffs:  ★★★★☆

Reif
Class Series:  White Mage
Weapon of Choice:  Staves
Signature Move(s):  Wish Well
Psynergy Heals:  ★★★★★
Psynergy Buffs:  ★★★☆☆
Djinn Heals:  ★★★☆☆

I can't augment Tyrell, Karis, and Amiti's djinn into more satisfying classes, as they're mostly Mercury without any Venus.  I'm pretty much stuck with Amiti's default class and Tyrell and Karis as Cavalier/Ascetic or Ranger.

I still don't have the game but I'm currently watching the youtube gameplay videos when I have free time. Anyway, so far my favorite character is Mattew.

Amiti has no Wish Well...

I made a Chaos Lord/Ronin/Paladin/Paladin Party

Matthew + Chaos Lord = lots and lots of attacks from Sol Blade. Revives
Ronin + Eoleo = Lots of buffs [Will be changing this to Paladin, mebbe, due to the Jupiter Djinn which Tyrell might need]
Tyrell + Paladin = Excalibur + Pure Wish [changing him to Ronin soon, mebbe] Water of Lifes goes to him.
Himi+ Paladin = lots of healing capabilities and still high attack.
Water of Lifes goes to her.

Sveta + Ninja = Mediocre attack class, loses her Brutal Beast class however ;A;
Karis + Pure Mage = Healer + Reviver
Amiti + Wizard = Buffer + Healer.
Rief + Sage = Mediocre healer, buffer. [Gave the last Mars Djinn to him XP]

By the way, what djinn did you guys set for the classes? I want to try the new classes when I get the game.

You'd have to check the wiki to get the typical ninja/white mage classes djinn distribution.  Only the Curse Master and Bruiser class series are unique (to Sveta and Himi).

I believe it's Earth for Sveta and Fire for Himi.  If you have to give them more than 6 or 7 djinn, they need to be topped off with one other element to maintain the class, though i forget which exactly.

Wait, why is Matthew's physical attack a 4 out of 5?  He has the highest attack in the game...your ratios are all wrong.

My party is this

Matthew; Chaos Lord
Karis; Pure Mage
Tyrell; Paladin
Eoleo; Ronin

I have Matthew, Karis, Tyrell, and Amiti, all with they're respective djinni by default. I hate mixing djinni. lol.

I'm about to start my second profile and I am toying with

Sveta
Amiti
Himi
Tyrell

Dunno if I'll keep that though, I don't know how successful I will be keeping Matthew off my main team...

I keep everyone in their base classes because I don't like mixing djinn...

My main party consisted of Matthew, Eoleo, Karis, and Amiti.  Every once in a while, I swapped in Sveta for Karis.

Matthew was pretty much an all around epic warrior.  Eoleo was my heavy hitter/rock.  Karis with her awesome wind based healing spells was my healer, and I spammed psynergy with Amiti.

I also have a hard time mixing djinn but I want to be able to do it!

I tried mixing djinn to fight the Ancient Devil, and came up with:

Chaos Lord Matthew - spam attack with the Sol Blade, Revive
War Adept Eoleo - Lots of buffs, high defence, and decent attack/psynergy.  He's my rock
Aqua Master Amiti - awesome psynergy, has the Ply series for healing in a pinch, highest luck of everyone
Wizard Karis - Wish series, a couple of buffs, decent psynergy.  She's my main healer

And in my backup party, I have:

Pure Mage Rief - Wish series, some buffs, REVIVE
Conjurer Sveta - buffs, always have Beast Form if needed
Illusionist Himi - uh... pretty much useless
Berserker Tyrell - awesome psynergy and second highest attack after Matthew

I'm pretty happy, which is surprising.

I actually had a weird party for most of the game, even the last boss:

 :himi2: :eoleo2: :karis2: :amiti2:

With all of them in their default classes, I used Himi (with speed+ equipment) to buff Amiti first, who used his Masamune to deal lots of damage with the rising dragon attack (or whatever it's called) and I used Karis and Amiti to heal. Even though Karis' healing is weaker, it was all I ever needed anyway. Plus, she was a pretty solid attacker with the right weapons. I liked Eoleo's psynergy attacks too.
Basically, I just used all my favorites instead of trying to pwn

Aside from Amiti, who I use the most, those are the party members I use the least. Even though Himi is new, I have been relying on Matthew's high attack like a crutch throughout most of the game, so it was difficult to adapt to Himi, and I'm just plain sick of Mage-Style Jupiter Adepts. Eoleo and Tyrell I use about the same, however.

The only thing I didn't like about Eoleo was that he couldn't use longswords. :@

Tyrell was annoying outside of battle, so I ditched him for the rest of the game LOL

I know right! it's like: hey guys, I'm stupid and am going to offer nothing useful and just waste your DS's battery life with my stupid dialouge that has no point!

Lol yep.

Also, if I do play the game again, I'll probably try using Sveta. But IDK if that'll happen lol.

Do it. Doooooo iiiiiiiiitttttt! (in all seriousness, Sveta is actually pretty good. Her base class gives her some good Psynergy, and there are Two particular classes that give her maxed out attack stat when she gets in  beast form.

Yeah, I'll have to bring it with me when I go places from now on. Except... that isn't very often lol.

Fearless Attack is one of the Fire Brand's releases, I believe it's the lv 2 release seeing that Purgatory is the ultimate attack of the Fire Brand.

Fearless Attack is basically Heat Flash without a effect.

I forget what Heat Flash does too :P

Also, I think my last party was Matthew, Eoleo, Sveta and Amiti.

I always switch back and forth. Because I have proven that the front line levels up faster than the back line.

Or at least it always seems like it.

I sometimes switch  :eoleo2: in since he uses Dragon Fume, which was a favorite psnergy attack to use when Jenna was on the team in Lost Age.

Heat Flash was that attack Saturos did, I think Saturos has a Fire Brand, ever notice how much Saturos's sword looks like the Fire Brand?

I see. And I always pictured Saturos' sword as something more sinister than what the Fire Brand looks like, but it's so hard to tell on the GBA.

Wait, where did my post go?  I had a post in here detailing my party, and it ain't here.

Right now my team is:

 :matthew2:  :karis2:  :tyrell2:  :amiti2:

Ailments don't have a lot of use against regular enemies so I tend to stick with a single element class matching each character.  Every stat boosting consumable item has been given to Matthew.

:sveta2: will be replacing someone once she becomes a regular member.

Back row gets about half the experience, doesn't it?

My team is  :matthew2: :sveta2: :tyrell2: :amiti2: for the simple reason that they all can deal quite a bit of damage and three of them can heal, if necessary.

They get around 75% I think.

...I take it you use base classes, then?  That's the only reason you'd call Amiti a damage dealer, after all...

He used as a reserve attacker and a reserve healer (as he has Cure Poison and Restore). And yes, I do use base classes quite often, but I do experiment with other classes. I particularly enjoy the Ninja class. That one is so fun!

I have all characters at level 99, so I can't level up, unless Missingno rules applied and I leveled up to level 1.

So I have my level 99 team of  :matthew2: :karis2: :amiti2: :eoleo2:

I just started a new game, I'm thinking of playing through this time with only  :matthew2: :tyrell2: :karis2: :rief2: I want to do a run where I only use descendants of the Warriors of Vale, even Rief.
