The Messager - News, Suggestions, and Problems / Not exactly dead, but...
« on: November 29, 2013, 05:59:59 AM »
So I wasn't sure where I wanted to put this threat, but to hell with it, it's going here. Just letting folks know I'm not dead or not visiting etc, I do continue to check my emails for spam reports, as well as pop in when time allows to make sure there's no fights going on. I'm also posting this up here to give out the link to the Clan forums made by one of my head outfit moderators, in case any of you wished to mingle with other folks and perhaps even join Planetside 2 (and our Outfit) in the near future. They did recently update the game with a massive optimization patch so it runs significantly smoother on older hardware now. We also have a very active TeamSpeak server that I pay for and run myself, and I'm online there every day if you guys want a place to chat as well. Not to mention we play a myriad of other online games as well, from Dawn of War, Dota and FFXIV, to even games like Endless Space and Minecraft.

Leavings / Troubling matters.
« on: March 07, 2013, 10:50:05 PM »
Unfortunately due to some... rather unfortunate events happening recently in my Life, I'm going through another bout of emotional turmoil and depression. It's not so severe that I can't do my job as moderator, but I don't think I'm going to have the energy or willpower to post anything for a while... Hopefully my medications will kick in soon and help smooth things out, but until then I just have to wait and see what happens.

Leavings / Update on my whereabouts.
« on: October 15, 2012, 11:40:58 AM »
Just an update to let folks know where I've been and where I'm going...

So, as of late I've been having a lot of issue battling with depression, and more recently it's turned into full-blown suicidal behaviour... It began with just thoughts, but as of a couple days ago I started making attempts on my own life... I've had the strength to fight it off so far, but it's starting to really drain on me and I'm turning to more professional help to guide me. In all honesty, I don't know how long it will be before any of this passes, or even begins to quiet down for that matter...

So, yeah... My sincerest apologies, but I may not be active or online at all for the next Month or so.

Leavings / Less Active, Guild Wars 2 release.
« on: August 24, 2012, 09:25:16 AM »
Starting tomorrow I'll be less active on the forum as a result of my Guild moving over to GW2. We've a lot of stuff to do over the first few weeks so I'm going to be fairly busy, however I will try to drop in and check things every once in a while. If I get any email notifications about spam or whatever I'll be sure to check in as well. Just to be clear I'm not leaving, I just won't be checking in every day.

Colosso - RP Battles / Maegra versus...?
« on: June 11, 2012, 07:16:36 PM »
*Disclaimer* I would appreciate it if any challengers please post in an informative manner. You don't have to enter RP territory, but it would be more fluid if responses were along those lines as you'll see from my post. I can see how the quick "Attacks/Defends" style posts can work when hurrying to post, but when TLW started it's RP Battles back when that's exactly what they were; 'RP Battles'. You would get a real sense of how these OC's behaved and their various flaws, qualities and beliefs would come to light as they faced eachother. I'd like to bring those kinds of fights back if at all possible.

Minor Ground Rules.

Firstly: As various OC's can originate from not only the GS world but also other Mythos and Games, 'General Magic' is the consensus for spells and the like. You aren't limited to the moves that GS has created, you are free to act within your given element as you see fit (provided you don't go overboard, larger spells will drain you and weaken you moreso than basic ones). You can still use the Psyenergy from GS as a reference point, if you so desire.

Secondly: You are not a goddam Ninja. You will take hits, and you will be fair about it. You cannot block/dodge every attack thrown at you, and taking hits should affect the way you continue (Hand/Leg injuries etc). You may heal, but you don't have an infinite supply of Potions/Herbs/Spells at your disposal.

Lastly: Keep the posts to an acceptable size. No massive posts when you do a hundred different things in one go. Keep it down to a few actions, however you may describe actions freely and talk as long as is desired.

Silence hovers over the Stadium of The Lost Waters, only broken occasionally by the low crunching sound of shoes on gravel. A man tall in stature walks along the guardrailing that seperates the field from the spectators area, running a hand softly along the cold but familiar metal. His second hand grips the hilt of a Katana, sheathed in a painted ivory scabbard. He is dressed in white robes laced with intricate silver patterns, tightened around his waist by a light leather belt. Numerous satchels and small trinkets hang from the belt. Stopping momentarily, the man reaches up to brush strands of long white hair from his face as the winds begin to pick up.

"I wonder if after all these years there's still someone to challenge. If there's anyone willing to face a veteran like myself."

He stares over the old grounds, a grin of nostalgia breaking the otherwise indistinctive expression he appears to hold. Memories rush back to him of the days of old, the many adversaries he had faced in this very place. A fight against the leader of the Waters himself, even squaring off with the very woman he loved.

"I suppose that if they truly do wish to test their mettle, then they will come. All I need do is wait..."

Interestingly enough, I didn't see this topic anywhere. So I may aswell make it myself.

So as the title asks, what game/s are you currently playing? Are you enjoying the ups and downs of said games? Anything really catching your eye recently? Discuss.

As for me, Tribes: Ascend mostly. After years of slow shooters like Halo, CoD and the Battlefield games, it's refreshing to see an FPS on the market that stays true to it's speedy roots and doesn't tone it down for the newer generation. The feeling of speeding across the map at over 300 km/h (without a vehicle mind you, this can all be done with what you spawn with) grabbing a flag and then returning it to you base all within the timespan of roughly 10 seconds is certanly something you just don't get in modern shooters.

Also Beta testing Firefall and Path of Exile. Google is your friend for those.

My my, this place sure has grown since I went walkabout in the wide, wide web...

Strange, but good to be back. Though I'm certain not many people here will know who I am besides Sea and the Mods. Hopefully I can change that and get to know the newer folks as time passes.
