So I randomly dreamt up an interesting multiplayer game last night that I probably would never play because I'd be terrible at it.
Imagine a 5-team MOBA combined with Age of Empires II kinda sorta maybe-ish.

Each player joins one of five teams. Whichever team has the most players starts in the middle of the map as the blue team, and the other four teams start in each corner. The teams in the corners have a stronghold to defend, but the blue team does not. The blue team's units are stronger than the other teams', but if one of them die, they are out for the rest of the game. This mode I dreamt up is technically a free-for-all, so if the blue team gets wiped out, the other four teams continue to battle each other. The other teams' players can respawn at their stronghold after a certain amount of time, unless their stronghold gets destroyed.

When you start, you choose between an infantry warrior, a cavalry knight or a support archer. They each have their own strengths, weaknesses and abilities, for example, a warrior is good at fighting cavalry and other warriors, but are slow, so archers can get a lot more hits on them. Cavalry are good all-around fighters, but cannot attack strongholds effectively.

The graphics looked similar to Age of Empires II, and the combat flowed very similarly, making each round very fast-paced and chaotic when there are a lot of players (I remember seeing 50+ in one game). That's about all the details I can remember.

What do you think of this idea? I know it sounds like it would have some balance issues, but hey, it's hard to be a QA tester while you're asleep. Just sayin'

Just kidding, let's not.

Aqerame - Village of games and movies / Life is Strange

Life is Strange. You've probably heard of it. It was inspired by old-school point-and-click adventure games, featuring a branching storyline that is very well-written with time travel elements. Since the story is the main attraction, most of the game is cinematic.
It's on PS3 and Xbox360 for download; PS4, Xbox One and PC for download and physical limited edition.

I just played through the entirety of it, and it made me really think and feel in ways I never have before. I highly recommend this game to anyone who still comes here. Life is Strange is also one of those games that is much better if you play it without knowing much about it, so if it's already spoiled for you, I wouldn't recommend it as highly.

Anybody else here played it and wanna talk about it?

This was shamelessly plagiarized heavily inspired by Totalbiscuit. Just sayin'

Problems / Problem Loading the Site.

When I try to load any page on this site only, it will just stop randomly. Sometimes part of the page will load before it stops, but sometimes pages will fail to load altogether, despite my connection being fine and other sites are working fine too.

Anyone else having this problem?

Soaktropolis - Village of Spam / The Pony Internet Challenge

The goal of the challenge is to find a game series or other entertainment series (has to have 2 or more iterations) that currently has no crossover with MLP across the entire internet. A crossover includes art, fan fiction and even memes.

So name something, and I (or others if they want) will see if I can look up something.

Current winners:

1. Mana Khemia (09/18/2015)

Aqerame - Village of games and movies / Drakengard & NieR Thread?

I've probably asked this somewhere on TLW, but has anyone here played any of the Drakengard games or Nier?

Nier in particular hasn't been able to escape my mind since I completed it over half a year ago, which was only made more ingrained by the announced sequel at Squeenix's E3 conference. I am rabidly excited for that game.

This is why I need to stay away from events like E3. Just sayin'

I love jigsaw puzzles, and always have since I was little.
I started doing them again a few months ago after randomly discovering a Legend of Zelda jigsaw puzzle on Amazon.

Anyone else like them here? Complete one recently you'd like to share? Do puzzles frustrate you to the point of hemorrhoids? Discuss...

Aquoius - Village of General Chat / Contact TLW Members

I intended to make this thread as a failsafe, but hopefully it never comes to that and this remains a positive thread. I consider the people I've met here my friends, and should this forum cease to harbor any activity, or the rest of us discontinue to post and talk here, we can still keep in touch. Of course, if you don't wish to do this, that is your decision to make, not mine, but please give the thread a go-over before you decide.

I'm regretting not doing this sooner, but you know how it is, this is considered personal info, and I don't like posting it anywhere where people can find it. But it has felt like this place is slowly fading away for the past year. Long-time members have left us, and those who are still here are infrequently seen. New members say hi and leave immediately. And last but not least, interest in Golden Sun, the series responsible for all the time we've shared here, has waned so much, it's at a point where the future of the franchise is pretty nonexistent. We're at a point now where the death of activity here is in the forseeable future, at least in my point of view. I'd prefer it not to come to that, but it's something that needs to be considered.

I feel like I shouldn't have to mention this because it's pretty common sense, but this is NOT a means of giving out sensitive personal information, such as your real name, address, phone numbers, etc. This is meant to be online only. What you decide to share somewhere outside of TLW is up to you, but let's play by the rules while we're here, mmkay?
Now, here are what I consider "safe" to share here:

Website profiles (other forums, social media, etc.)
Youtube/Twitch profiles
Steam/Origin/etc. profiles
Xbox Live ID
Playstation Network ID
Nintendo Network ID
3DS/Wii Friend codes

E-mails I do not recommend sharing here, but since there is an option to display your e-mail below your avatar, it can't really be disallowed. Still, the last thing we need are a bunch of Mapboambaipt's and MumFuttenue's spamming our inboxes once they detect our e-mail addresses here.

Lastly, if you're still unsure about posting your stuff here, but still want to keep in touch, do what I'm about to do in the next post by typing it onto an image in Paint. Then, just attach it to your post. It'll be undetectable by bots and the like if that concerns you.

And now, let the stalking begin.

Poke. ( ͡ ͜ʖ ͡)

Before I say anything more, has anyone even heard of this game?

I stumbled upon it while browsing on Amazon one day. I don't remember ever seeing this game in a Nintendo direct or anything about it at E3, or well, anything, yet it's due to arrive here in the States in September, and it's already out in Japan. I found it weird that there was hardly anything about it on the internet until recently, or maybe I'm just not up to date with things (probably both).

It's often described as being heavily influenced by 3D Sonic and NiGHTS, but it looks like it has more action-platformer elements too. From what I've seen, you use the touchscreen to move along certain aerial paths lined with tokens, and tracing them will make Rodea fly through them like Sonic's light speed dash. There is also a homing attack if you tap enemies (I think, I couldn't see the touchscreen in the video), ground traversal and massive, Shadow of the Colossus-sized (or bigger) bosses.
In addition to all that, the game will come with the original, unreleased version that was being made for the Wii, compatible with Wii-mote motion controls, if you pre-order the game from certain outlets.
It looks like a lot of fun, and the artstyle is pretty breathtaking, being set in a world above the clouds.

Here's a gameplay video if you're interested:

I pre-ordered the special edition, which is a steal at only $75 at NIS's online store:

I copypasta'd this thread from TCT, where I posted it first. Just sayin'
I want to share this game with as many people as I can because Nintendo isn't marketing it at all, which is a shame because it looks incredible, even though the graphics aren't exactly up-to-date.

Given how much I love the Rock Band games, you'd think I'd be super epically excited about Rock Band 4, right? Well...

They're discontinuing the keyboard and pro mode except on drums. I never cared for pro mode, but a rock band is incomplete without a keyboard!!! Just sayin' That was my favorite addition to RB3 :(

They're also apparently pandering the game to the filthy casual/party crowd, which is a bad idea. The game's being released on PS4 and Xbox One, which filthy casual gamers do not have (except maybe the Madden/Fifa crowds). They mostly just play on their mobile devices or tablets, meaning a lot of that market is gone.
This also means the game will probably be full of boring-to-play popular songs they use to advertise the game.

But I'll still probably buy it lol... So... post about Rock Band 4, or any other RB or GH game here, if you want to...

It's a site where you can catalogue all the games you've played, are currently playing, and are looking forward to. This might seem pointless to some, but I thought it was fun.
Here is mine:
