I haven't had any interest in seeing a new movie in years, including the new Star Wars.
It'll be me starting the Bill & Ted 3 thread when the time comes though.

So, I've kind of had an idea for a thread in mind for a while and all these project threads popping back up has got my interest in making it, rise again.

I mean, not that there is a whole lot of us, but it seems everyone around is working on various things.
The idea is that it's basically a compiled list of everything everyone is currently working on, with links to their respective threads.
The point of it is to keep the threads for the projects as huge info dumps and whatever images/updates can be posted for it.
While this main thread is going to serve as a place for any questions, general discussion, tips, and whatever about them.
As well as maybe announcement posts to bump it.
With luck, the plan is to have all the threads easy to find instead of having to dig through the dustier parts of the forum just to update, and to keep those threads free of clutter and off topic stuff.
As well as serve as a reminder to keep us working on those projects.

The structure would be like a short snippet explaining what the thread is for, then the lists.
So, then all anybody has to do is post what their project(s) are and I'll edit it in.

It'd kinda look like this:

  ->Book name< : >(Maybe include type/genre of book/whatever it is here)<
  ->(Placeholder Book name)< >(Type)<
 =Video Games
  ->Game name< >(Genre)<
 =>Whatever other category<
  ->You get the idea<
With each name being a link to that project's thread if it has one.

I really like the idea, just not sure of a few things.
1. If anyone is even interested
2. If there's really enough of us/projects going on to warrant it
3. If it'd even actually work out as planned

I'd also include a link to it in my sig. Since I still post fairly often, this'd make it so it's always super easy to find the list, and consequently your own threads for whenever you want to update or wanna re-read someone else's stuff.
So, what do you guys think ?

I really adored the first game. Like all around loved it. (My favorite character was the blind pedophile-priest, by the way.)
Course the sequels flew under my nose and I haven't played the first one since back when it released, though I do remember it really well considering.
Course, I'd love to replay it and get my hands on all the sequels.
Not to mention that I didn't even know NieR was part of the series at all until a little while ago.
(I think it may have actually been you who told me that, but I can't remember for sure, might of heard it from DemolitionD+ instead.)
I  haven't seen a copy of any of'em floating around my area though.

Guess I'll just have to just buy them online some day, but that's something I'll have to get around to eventually.
That list of things I'm gonna do eventually is getting really, really, huge.  :gsfrown:

You thought I might have anything to say about real life love interests ?

(Sounds like it could actually be a cool thread now that I think about it, but I don't got nothin' to post in it.)

The Future of Golden Sun / Re: Does Golden Sun have to be for New 3ds?
« on: September 02, 2015, 01:03:55 PM »
Yeah, outside of creating a whole separate Nintendo account, no. You can do the system transfer thing though.
Am I too behind on the times or what ? I thought the "New 3DS" was just a 3DS with the second stick as a permanent part ?
If that's what's up, why not just get the peripheral if you need it ?

Either way, I agree with Rolina on it being too late in the cycle, but that said.
Games released at the end of a system's lifespan tend to be either great yet way undersold, or completely rushed and terrible.
So, while it could be quite nice to get it on 3DS at this point, I think if that's what happens it'll kill off the series for sure even if it is what we all want.
Looked back at as an excellent hidden gem, or forgotten by all who weren't fans and kept in memory as the final finger to us all.

Of course, if we don't hear anything in the next three years, we might as well declare GS officially dead anyhow.
Maybe, we'll get lucky and it'll be one of the launch date games for the next portable, boosting the series' popularity greatly.
A man can dream~

These are elements that are in very many games, and RPGs are hardly ever without at least a touch of them.

So, which games had success in these areas ?
Any love interests that you liked ?
Any romances that felt believable or especially enjoyable ?
What about times that you felt these were done... not so well ?

Share your thoughts on those you feel strongly about~

 :gsexclamatory: Warning: Spoilers are free game !
Kinda hard to explain what you really liked or not about a relationship if you're trying to leave important events out of the discussion.

While the thread is not for shipping discussion, some mentions are acceptable if you're trying to use it as an example of implied romance done well or something similar.
Also, the relationship need not be the main focus of the game or involve the main characters. Use whatever examples you want.

So, I'll start off by just saying it. I can't think of a single instance where I enjoyed these elements in any game I've played.
Not one case. I'm not without a favored ship or two here and there, but I just haven't enjoyed any attempts at romance.
I haven't fallen for a love interest, much less even liked them. Can't even think of one between side characters that I liked. (Though, hey maybe there was one. I just can't think of it.)
It's not that I don't think these can be done well, or that I'm vehemently against romance. (Though I started to believe that might be the case for a good while there.)
I just haven't.
So, guess I'll just be ranting about particular characters/tropes that get on my nerves.
Another thing about it all though. In RPGs, I don't think I'd dislike any of the characters I'll be going on about quite so much (if at all) if I didn't feel like I was being forced into a romance with them in many cases.

Indeed. It's quite troublesome.
Think I'll make a thread about love interests, it's something I can rant about quite a bit.
I'd like to hear about any that others actually did like too.

... or did we already have a thread like that ?

Suggestions / Slice n' Dice

About the only idea I've had that seems useful.

We could really use some kind of die roller around these parts.
Add some actual mechanics to RP that way, and even open up the opportunity to play lots of games together in that board.

RP seems to be totally dead these days, and even so, most fun-time battling just ended up being massive dodge fests of immortals.
I always kind of wanted to actually get into one of'em but always ended up having to drop out super early for one reason or several.
What better way to pursue that dream than to have a little new life breathed into the whole section ?
Any venturing out of the comfort of Soaktropolis is good anyway, right ? Could play some games there too with them dice.
(I understand that I may be asking for the impossible or the quite difficult, but hey~)

Too bad there isn't a bustling romhack community for GS.
(and that I still haven't completed that table top RPG, and have no one to play with anyway now that I think about it.)
Really want to go back to Weyard, but still remember too much to feel like I would play all the way through.

Also, I always have to name everyone. It's a dangerous obsession that really slows down progress in games for me.
I'll just end up staring at the screen for like 2-3 hours groaning because I don't actually know enough people to fill up the roster these days.
I've always named everyone in an RPG after friends and family. Was cool having two separate parties too.
Gave me a bit of incentive to think of Felix and Isaac as actually having different personalities.
Instead of me being Isaac, then later on I'm Felix and not Isaac anymore. I played them like they were different people.
Used to always name Isaac after my brother, that has certain implications now that I've thought about it. Gahahaha~

At least there isn't a love interest for Felix, having to name a love interest means it amps up to yelling obscenities and giving up for a day/eternity.
Doesn't help that I usually want nothing to do with the love interests in the first place in nearly every game I've played. (Can't think of any that I actually did like.)
How am I supposed to name some girl I don't even like that outside of my control I fall in love with ?
This is a horror scenario no matter if I did have someone to name her after. Feels wrong to name'em after my waifu

I guess Felix has that whole "been gone for a number of years" angle that makes a decent excuse to use old friends that I haven't talked to in forever, but eh...
This is why I can't play Chrono Trigger anymore.
