Nintendo have finally revealed the release date and price for the hugely anticipated next-gen Nintendo 3DS... In Japan at least. Sadly, it's not due any time this year.

The release date in Japan is February 26, 2011, and it will retail for 25'000 ($300). Two colors for the system will be available at launch, "Aqua Blue" and "Cosmos Black", two we've already seen in pictures.
Nintendo have announced a more tentative "March" release date for Europe and North America.

The 3DS will also feature a virtual console-like service, with downloadable games from past handheld consoles, updated to make use of the 3DS' features. Super Mario Land and The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX have been given as examples so far.

Finally, here's a video featuring the first footage of a ton of 3DS games, including Mario Kart, Paper Mario, Animal Crossing and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

So what do you guys think?

I already heard of the 3Ds and can't wait for it to come out in Europe. =3
Having threedimensional sight without using specific glasses is an awesome idea, plus I like the new graphics.

At least one update to the DS I don't dislike. DSi and DSi XL weren't necessary at all =_=!
It's human nature that people won't realize the true value of something unless they lose it.
