I just finished watching the walkthrough of Dark Dawn, but I hadn't seen a cut scene of proving Amiti is Alex's son. So is this just a internet rumor?

It is highly hinted at tho and also it was confirmed by It was later confirmed by Nintendo, I read it somewere.

Alex IS Mia's Cousin thus
  • Alex is Rief and Nowell's uncle
  • Amritri is in theory Rief and Nowells cousins

There's some sort of family tree line floating around, and it confirms Alex as Amiti's father.

I think the cutscene you're refering to is when Matthew went into Kolima Forest to find Tret, and Tret said that Amiti is somehow related to Mia... Cousins he said. There ya go. Cousins of cousins. lol

Wait. If Mia and Alex are cousins, that doesn't make Alex an uncle. That just makes them more separate cousins. Like Alex and Rief are second cousins, presumably, since Mia and Alex were first cousins. An uncle only an uncle if Mia and Alex were brother and sister. Which they were not. I know family trees can be confusing. x(
