I feel sorry for you if that 'sugary' love song crap is the first thing that comes to mind when you think of love songs lol...
Try the Anathema song (The Lost Song, Pt. 2) I posted in the "What are you listening to now?" thread. It's a deeper love themed song with layers of really well-composed instrumentals, but it's also pretty sad.

Finally, I found it. This stupid song 'Lovely Day' by Bill Withers plays on our intercom at work every friggen' day. It may not sound bad on Youtube at first, but because the intercom's speakers are so bad you can only hear the drums and vocals, yet it's impossible to understand any of the words... And if this song wasn't monotonous enough already, about 3 minutes in, this singer yells a note that seems to last about 30 seconds, while the droning morons in the background say "lovely day" over and over and over... Listen at your own risk I guess...
